Pastor Stephen Hein

Pastor Stephen Hein (pictured above) was born in Northern Wisconsin and grew up in Southeastern Wisconsin. He moved to Arizona for his first ministerial call in 1985. He is a 1985 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary where he earned a Masters in Divinity degree. He is also a graduate of Northwestern College in Watertown, WI where he earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree. He has served First Lutheran in Prescott, Hope Lutheran in Chino Valley and presently serves at Christ Lutheran in Prescott Valley at the church he started in 1988.

In 2019 Pastor Hein and his wife Ann celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. They have 3 children, Katie, Emily and Luke. He is an avid Green Bay Packer fan. The mast of the flag in his office goes to half mast when they lose…thankfully that isn’t too often.

Since 2010 and every year since he has led a tours of Biblical/religious insight around the world. This includes the Holy Land – Israel and Egypt, the Steps of the Apostle Paul – Greece, Italy, Turkey, the Cradle of the Reformation – Germany, St Patrick and the Trinity in Ireland and N Ireland. In June, 2015 he led a tour to Norway with its beautiful fjords and glaciers, and Stave Churches which helped shape the Lutheran Church in America. In 2016 his tour will include Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.

Our congregation has a great interest in supporting the future education of pastors and teachers who will proclaim God's Word to the next generation. Our pastor serves on the Governing Board for Luther Prep School in Watertown, WI where young boys and girls are trained at a young age for ministry. After Luther Prep they head to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN.
